Last blog talked about self soothing and how important it is to our overall well-being. This company has designed meditation programs for home use that incorporate fun games and special effects experiences that make them interesting as well as soothing. In association with Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. Dean Ornish and Dr. Andrew Weil, this program runs on your home PC and trains you in breathing and meditation exercises. You practice the exercises and receive real-time feedback. Soothing visuals are offered onscreen or you can watch your graph display. There is a meditation learning option in the Wild Divine package that builds a rock wall or takes your rocks away based on your temperature and breathing. Doors open, beautiful peaceful scenes are presented, and they are really quite creative and fun. I find that clients like such effects, as they take the emphasis off dysfunction and place it on learning optimal functioning. The Wild Divine programs also offer guided meditation and training.
What they really are teaching you is that you can be in control of things you probably thought you couldn’t control. You see it happening in real time, right in front of you. A calm mind is a calm body. Calmness is good. You’ll enjoy better focus and productivity, better relationships and better health. I have had success with many clients over time with this process, and the common denominator with their feedback was the relief they reported feeling. They now knew that they could control the panic, anxiety and terror that had been keeping them from enjoying their lives.
Doing this at home in your own time on your own computer allows you freedom of scheduling and not having to set an appointment to gain the benefits of meditation training and relaxation feedback.
